{Synopsis} – Little Crow loves to sing, and Papa Crow loves his song. But when Little Crow shares his crow songs with the other birds at the big old tree, they laugh and scatter. Maybe Mockingbird can teach him to sing songs with the finches, flycatchers, and cardinals and help him make some friends. But Little Crow should be careful what he wishes for… Using Mockingbird's tip, Little Crow quickly becomes the most popular bird on the block. But, in a moment of danger, he learns that singing someone else's song can have terrible consequences and that his own voice and his father's love is of the greatest value. Paired with colorful collage illustrations, this inspirational story is complemented by fun facts about North American birds and their sounds. Grades Pre-K to 2.

{My thoughts} – This book was rather sweet. I enjoyed the graphics for the most part they were colorful and eye catching. I didn’t like the font in which the story was displayed though. The font to me was a bit much for a children’s book and was verging close to a cursive type writing which most small children do not know how to read. I liked that the moral of the story was that it’s okay to be who you are born to be and that you don’t have to change things about yourself just so that others will accept you. It isn’t a needed thing when it comes to acceptance of who you are. It’s important to know that the person you are born to be is the person that you are suppose to be. It also important to know that being different is what helps to show that you are not a robot like all those around you, you have your own thoughts, mind and desires. A very nice book and one that I think many parents should have on their children’s bookshelf.

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
