{Synopsis} – Pick a book. Grow a Reader!

This series is part of Scholastic’s early chapter book line, Branches, aimed at newly independent readers. With easy-to-read text, high-interest content, fast-paced plots, and illustrations on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and stamina. Branches books help readers grow!

Eerie Elementary is at it again! In book #5, a terrible snow storm hits the school, and the students are trapped. Soon, the hungry school begins to freeze from the inside out! Icicles drip from the ceiling and snow piles fill the hallways! Then Antonio turns into an ice statue — making him a yummy popsicle for the school to dine on! Can Sam and Lucy turn up the heat in time to save the students?

{My thoughts} – Sam, Lucy and Antonio are on another mission to save the school from Orson Eerie. Only this time they have a little help from Orson himself. Since they found his book of science experiments in the last book and noticed that it’s pages were covered in notes handwritten by Orson, they are able to search the book for ways in which they can try and defeat and or foil his plans.

In this book Orson has caused a huge snow storm to take place. He is controlling the storm and he is trying to use it to further his own plans. Sam, Lucy and Antonio are trying to find a way to put an end to the storm while trying to keep everyone within the school walls safe. This is no easy task for them, but they are definitely up for the challenge.

If you’d like to know if they are able to stop Orson’s plans and keep everyone safe, you will need to read the book. I noticed that there is another book soon to be released in this series and I can’t wait to read it. These books have just enough mystery, suspense, horror and humor combined that they are refreshing and appealing to nearly any reader. I look forward to seeing what my son has to say about this series when I let him read it! As of now though, I am a fan.

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
