{My thoughts} – I always enjoyed reading the books that Joan Holub writes. These Primer books are no different. I like that they help to teach children about people that have helped to shape the world in which we live. That they help to teach children about those that have made a difference in the world in which we live. A good difference.
In this particular book the focus is women that have made a difference. I enjoyed reading the nice little introductory rhyme on the first page and then the facts about the individual on the following page. I also enjoy how the illustrations and the words on the pages go together hand and hand in a nicely manner.
I recommend this book to any child that shows a hunger for knowledge. This book and the others in the set help to teach children important facts that will be beneficial to them in the future. These books are wonderful for children that love to be read to as well, because although they think they are just hearing a story they are actually learning about an important part of their history.
