{Pretty Little Secrets: Sara Shepard}

{Synopsis} – Rewind to junior year in Rosewood, Pennsylvania, to a winter break no one has ever heard about. . . .

Fat snowflakes fall onto manicured lawns, quilted stockings hang over marble fireplaces, and everyone is at peace, especially Hanna, Emily, Aria, and Spencer. Now that Alison’s murderer is in jail and A is dead, they can finally relax. Little do they know there’s a new A in town. . . .

Rule number one of being an effective stalker: Get to know your prey. So I watch these liars day and night, keeping an eye on the trouble they get into, the messes they make, and the secrets they keep. Hanna’s desperate for a very personal session with her gym trainer. Emily is number one on Santa’s naughty list. Aria’s old flame from Iceland is about to land her in hot water. And Spencer’s resorting to some backhanded tactics to get what she wants.

What happens on holiday break stays on holiday break—right? But guess what. I saw. And now I’m telling.

Taking place between “Unbelievable” and “Wicked,” “Pretty Little Secrets” is a very special “Pretty Little Liars” tale revealing the liars’ never-before-seen misadventures over their junior-year winter break.

{My thoughts} – I had a hard time wanting to finish this book. I think I should have expected it because it wasn’t read in what I would consider the order of when it had taken place via the storyline. However it was still a rather nice read and it gave more insight to the and their lives.

{Hannah} – Hannah is in the transition of her mom moving and her dad and his new wife Isabelle and her Step sister Kate moving in. Over the Christmas Holiday she is forced to take part in Christmas celebrations that she wouldn’t ordinarily have anything to do with because she is a Jewish. Anyways because of Isabelle and Kate her father makes her celebrate Christmas traditions and she isn’t completely into it and Kate is still being all nasty to her. Hannah loses Lucas for a few weeks because he goes on vacation with his family and while he is gone she decides to make some changes in her life and one of those is to take better care of herself. When Lucas comes back he and his parents get her to divert from those changes and she feels better about herself for it. However, she and Kate get into a battle that leaves Hannah having the ability to blackmail Kate since Kate was trying to blackmail Hannah.

{Emily} – Emily’s family is going to have a rough Christmas due to insufficient bank funds. Her mother has a baby Jesus that she lent to the church for their nativity scene and someone had stolen it. Emily’s mother asks her to spy on the girls that are assumed to be the culprits. Emily ends up getting a part time job in order to do her mother’s bidding however, she ends up becoming friends with the girls and she ditches the plan her mom had set into motion. In the end the girls do the right thing.

{Aria} – Her ex-boyfriend from Iceland comes for a pop visit. He is full of balonga and he drags Aria into it with him. They end up getting married and he leaves her the day after the wedding. She gets the marriage annulled and goes back home. However, the news of why he left her the way he did hits national television. It seems to me that Aria has very bad luck with guys …

{Spencer} – Spencer and her family decide to make a trip to Florida to spend some family time together at her Nana’s beach house. Spencer and her sister decide they like the same guy only to discover in the end he wasn’t really worth their time. However, before hand they fight over him like juveniles. It’s rather amusing, but in the end they get even with him for the crap he pulls on them which I suppose is a good thing although they still don’t share the sister bond they should. Too much in the past has tore them apart and too much that can’t be repaired – however eventually maybe they will learn to get along in some fashion.

Final Conclusion: 2 Star Rating.
