{The Mockingjay: Suzanne Collins}

{The Mockingjay: Suzanne Collins}

{Synopsis} – Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding.
It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans — except Katniss.
The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay — no matter what the personal cost.

{My thoughts} – This book was rather difficult for me to read. I had problems getting into it from the beginning and I didn’t care much for the 180 all the characters took in terms of attitudes. It was more annoying as opposed to delightful.

{Part One} – I have to admit first that I have lost interest in this book. It seems to dragging on and on. With that said it is time to explore the aftermath of the result of the last book. A lot of what is taking place is rather predictable now which makes it difficult to want to keep reading. Anyways: onward I shall read.

{Part Two} – Well this part started with a nice nifty surprise. I have to say it moved along a little faster then the first part did and it wasn’t as hard to read through. But I will admit it still didn’t have my undivided attention. This parts focus is on moving forward, not being trapped in the past, allowing your feelings to show and standing up for what you believe in. And it ends with a little surprise as well. All and all it was an alright read.

{Part Three} – I honestly didn’t know what to expect in this part. Katniss proves that her thoughts can be tainted by those around her and she shows a lack in defiance against the government after the government makes her lose so many people that are near and dear to her heart.

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
