{Golden Blood: Melissa Pearl}

{Synopsis} –Gemma Hart never knows when her father is going to whisk her back in time. Her toes start tingling and she has a few minutes to find a secret haven where she can disintegrate and appear in another time and place. While “across the line,” her training and skills are put to the test as she completes a mission that will change history for the lucky few her father has selected.

Gemma's parents are adamant that secrecy is paramount to her family’s safety. If people knew what they were capable of, they could be “used and abused”, as her mother always says. Afraid she might accidentally utter the truth and break the ancient oath of her people, Gemma spends her school days as a loner. Only one thing can throw her sheltered life askew… Harrison Granger.

Harrison never expected to talk to the strange Hart girl, but after a brief encounter he can't stop thinking about her. He begins a campaign to chisel away her icy veneer and is met with unexpected consequences. As he slowly wins this girl over, he enters a surreal world that has him fighting to keep his newfound love and his life.

{My Thoughts} – This book is about time traveling to the the past. It is about a young girl named Gemma Hart and her family. This book is sort of like a {Phil of the Future} and {doctor who} instance. The means in which they travel is a bit different but they do the traveling for the right reasons. The whole family is out to make for a better future which is something of importance when it comes to certain individuals of the past that had last their lives to soon when they could have done better had they been given a chance, or something bad had happened in their lives that needed to be prevented in order to allow for them to have a better life. All and all its usually for the better of mankind when they do travel back.

Gemma eventually meets a boy named Harrison. She falls in love with him and he falls in love with her and they want to be together. However, based on the family traditions the fact that they are two different types of people one can time travel and the other cannot. Her parents are not going to be wild about them dating.

Gemma is a strong character, she is motivated, she wants her independence and is difficult to disagree with. She reminds me a bit of my daughter. My daughter is all of those traits and more which made it easily for me to relate to the character. Harrison is a lush, he is so head over heels in love with Gemma that he can’t think of anything other then her and how he’d like to spend his future with her. It’s a typical boy meets girl, falls in love with a time traveling twist in the middle. I can’t wait to read the next two books in the series.

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
