{Synopsis} – Pick a book. Grow a Reader!

This series is part of Scholastic’s early chapter book line, Branches, aimed at newly independent readers. With easy-to-read text, high-interest content, fast-paced plots, and illustrations on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and stamina. Branches books help readers grow!

In the ninth book of this spooky series, Eerie Elementary is having an art show. Sam is working on his project for the show when suddenly the clay he’s working with comes ALIVE! Then Sam and his friends start seeing signs of mad scientist Orson Eerie everywhere. First Orson’s face mysteriously appears on a painting, then he leads them to a new, secret room in the school. What is Orson up to this time? Is he trying to spread his creepy power outside school grounds yet again? Sam and his friends need to act FAST!

{My thoughts} – Orson Eerie is most certainly up to no good once again. In this all new book, he decides to attack Sam, Antonio and Luycy by turning art supplies and art projects loose on them. It’s no wonder these three kids are always thinking something bad is going to happen when the name Orson Eerie is thought about.

Orson Eerie has figured out that he can still reach his evil powers outside of the school and that the hall monitors won’t be able to stop him off of school grounds. He intentionally leads the children to his hidden art studio which in turn gets his painting auctioned off during the art show. The children decide that they have to find a way to stop that painting from leaving the school, so they decide to brainstorm and come up with a way to buy the painting themselves.

I really enjoy this series. It’s got a nice cozy feel to it and it isn’t too scary. I can’t wait until I am able to get my littles one’s to sit still for longer books, because these are definitely going to be added to our reading list at that point!

This is a must have series for any child’s library. It is absolutely incredible! It has a way of pulling the reader in and keeping there until the very last page, and then makes them want more! I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
