Does he have what it takes to find his way home in the midst of the bombs, the smoke, and the destruction of the day that will live in infamy?<\/p>\n<p><strong>{My thoughts} \u2013 <\/strong> Danny is a young boy who has his life flipped upside down. His mom decides she doesn\u2019t like him hanging with the group of kids he has been and moves them from New York to Hawaii. <\/p>\n<p>She didn\u2019t come upon this decision lightly. Danny and a close friend of his had gotten into some trouble and his friend got hurt really bad. After that his mom had a choice to make and she\u2019d hoped by getting him out of that kind of environment she\u2019d be able to keep him safe. <\/p>\n<p>There was no way she could have known that moving to Hawaii was going to be nearly as dangerous as living in New York. The bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japan Military had come as a complete surprise. They\u2019d crippled all of Hawaii\u2019s defenses. Had they decided to attack again there was no way Hawaii could defend itself. <\/p>\n<p>Danny saw first hand what was going on. He\u2019d saw so many get hurt and lose their lives. He\u2019d saw his mom help as many as she could along with her co-workers. He\u2019d learned that even though he was finding it hard to be happy in Hawaii, that he was happy to have his mom there with him. <\/p>\n<p>This book was amazingly written. It pulled me into the story from the very beginning. Thank an huge fan of historical literature based on the WW2 period and this book helped to fill a small void.
