{Young Chicken Farmers: Vickie Black}

{Synopsis} – Would you like to be a young chicken farmer? Believe it or not, you don't have to live on a farm to raise chickens — chicken farmers live in rural areas, suburbs, and even in inner cities. Caring for chickens can be easy once you learn how to keep them safe, healthy, and happy. Young Chicken Farmers: Tips for Kids Raising Backyard Chickens will teach you how to care for your flock and have fun at the same time.

{My thoughts} – This book was a good read with my children. It helped them to learn more about chickens from egg hatching to helping them grow and lay their own ages. My 10 year old enjoyed learning the different colors of eggs that can be laid by different kinds of chickens. My 8 year old enjoyed reading the little skits that were written on the pictures and my 7 year old enjoyed the same as my 10 year old.

I had decided to read this book to them because they actually have baby chicks in their classrooms at school that they were waiting to hatch before Spring Break. I am assuming they have hatched by now, but I thought it would be nice to give them a little more insight on the whole baby chick and hatching and helping to raise them concept.

I am assuming they thought it was going to be neat to see them hatch or to mess with them after. But I also think now that they have this information, they have a different perspective. This book was very informative and is a wonderful book for any child that wants to learn more about baby chicks.

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
