{Pandora the Curious: Joan Holub & Suzanne Williams}

{Synopsis} – Is Pandora about to open up a box of trouble?

One of the few mortals at Mount Olympus Academy, Pandora is famous for her mega quizzical nature—not that she thinks there’s anything wrong with being curious, of course!

Her curiosity kicks into high gear when a godboy named Epimetheus brings a mysterious box to school. Epimetheus is the nephew of an MOA teacher in whose class Pandora once opened another box that sent a few weather disasters to earth. Still, Pandora can’t help but take a peek inside this new box when it unexpectedly lands in her lap. What could be the harm in that, right? Little does she know that opening the box will open up far more trouble than she ever expected!

Authors Joan Holub and Suzanne Williams put a modern spin on classic myths with the Goddess Girls series. Follow the ins and outs of divine social life at Mount Olympus Academy, where the most privileged godboys and goddessgirls in the Greek pantheon hone their mythical skills.

{My thoughts} – The godboys of MOA decide to play keep away with Epimetheus box, their little game becomes the talk of the hallway. Pandora sees what’s going on and becomes extremely curious as to what may or may not be inside the box.

When one of the godboys throw the box too far out of the others reach, it magically lands in Pandora’s hands. She looks around and notices that no one else seems to see that she has the box, and allows her curiosity to get the best of her. It doesn’t take long before she has the box open and she’s looking at the contents inside.

Shortly after she has the box open Epimetheus sees it and rushes over to snap the lid shut. Once it’s closed he asks how she opened it, since it was apparently impossible to open and her only response was that it was simple. After their conversation they go their separate ways. Epimetheus goes and hides the box somewhere safe and Pandora goes to class.

Science-ology begins and the teacher is away so principal Zues is teaching the class. Instead of teaching though he creates a project where everyone has a week to come up with a science fair project. He tells everyone to group up and eventually Epimetheus asks her to join him and his brother.

The book however is less about the science fair projects and more about the box that Pandora had managed to open. Pandora then has to convince some of the others that all the strange things happening with people at MOA is because of the box she’d opened.

If you’d like to know more you’ll need to read the book. It was a fun read and extremely enjoyable in my opinion. I look forward to reading the next book on the series.

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
