{Synopsis} – Be careful what you wish for…
When my brother, Jonah, and I travel through our mirror into the story of Aladdin, we’re excited. There will be magic lamps and genies granting wishes. Right?
Wrong.
The genie we meet isn’t QUITE as helpful as we expected. And if Aladdin’s wishes don’t come true, he won’t get to marry the princess and live happily ever after!
Now we have to:
– Escape an enchanted cave
– Find forty buckets of jewels
– Plan a parade
– Learn to fly a magic carpet
Otherwise we’ll run out of wishes… and never get home!
{My thoughts} – In this all new adventure in Fairytale Land – Abby and Jonah get a lesson in wish making. It starts with Abby having problems with a read-a-thon at school, she wants to win so that she can choose the books that get ordered for the school library, however, she has only read nine books, needs to finish a tenth and has lost her ambition. It’s the last night to read the books for it and she’s decided that her and Jonah are going to go through the magic mirror instead. She is hoping that they will be able to find a solution to their current problem.
Once they drop through the mirror it doesn’t take them long to figure out which fairytale they are in and they are kind of happy about it being Aladdin. Jonah however, did his initial it must be Jack and the Beanstalk routine, and then when it wasn’t he wasn’t as sad as he has been in the past books. I guess that’s mainly because this particular faitytale isn’t overly girly since it is revolved around Aladdin and the choices that he make.
I was pleasantly engrossed in this book and I had a hard time putting it down, even if for a few minutes. It did however, end up taking me longer to read it then I had though it would since I kept getting distracted. Over all though I found it to be a great addition to the series. It helped to further the storyline while introducing the readers to a whole other fairytale. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
