{Giraffes Can’t Dance: Giles Andreae}

{Synopsis} – Gerald the giraffe longs to dance, but his legs are too skinny and his neck is too long. At the Jungle Dance, the warthogs waltz, the chimps cha-cha, and the lions tango. “Giraffes can’t dance,” they all jeer when it’s Gerald’s turn to prance. But with some sound advice from a wise cricket, Gerald starts swaying to his own sweet tune.

{My thoughts} – I have been wanting to get this book for awhile and I finally got it for the girls a few weeks before Christmas. Giraffe’s are my ultimate favorite animal and I fell in love with this book the first time I opened the pages.

This book is all about a giraffe named Gerald that wants to dance, but doesn’t seem to have the ability to dance at all. He goes to a jungle dance where all these other animals dance and do their thing and then he feels out of place. Eventually he runs across a cricket that gives him some sound advice.

I think this is a great book because it helps to show younger children, that even though they aren’t as good at things as their friends and others, that it’s okay. It also shows them that sometimes they just have to find a different way to look at things and then it will all make sense to them.

I recommend this book for any child because I think it has a wonderful moral that can help children for years to come.

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
