{My thoughts} – We absolutely love the Twinkle, Twinkle, You’re My Star book that was previously released. It’s become such a loved book by my girls that it’s in a bit of rough shape. They truly enjoy having that book read to them. When I saw this book in the Catalog I knew it was one that I needed to request. I knew my daughters would love it.
Onto the review. You Are My Sunshine is a finger puppet book that is loosely based on the song titled You Are My Sunshine that is a widely popular children’s song. It follows along with the song up until you get closer to the end of the book and then it the author adds in her own words.
Sandra Magsamen is an incredible children’s author. I absolutely love her books. The words on the pages are fun and cheerful. The illustrations are bright and colorful. I love how each book is as wonderful as the last. They are short books that are fun quick and easy reads. They have illustrations that or close enough to the real thing that a child can learn to distinguish what the object in the book is in relation to the object in the real world.
I highly recommend this book and any other book by Sandra Magsamen. I promise you won’t be disappointed. They are as I have stated incredible books!
