{My thoughts} – Adolf Eichmann was the head of operations for the Nazis finale solution to the Jewish question. I am widely aware that nearly any book I read that is going to based on what happened at this time in history is going to be sad and heart breaking. I’m not oblivious to that fact. I still to this day cannot fathom how any individuals were able to blindly follow Hitler and cause the deaths of so many innocent people.
While I was reading this book I’d learned something that I hadn’t already have known. I didn’t know that there had been a plan of relocation for the Jews developed, as opposed to mass murdering them all. I didn’t know that Hitler decided to change the relocation plan to mass murdering. I’d only known about the mass murdering portion in this book.
The more I was reading the book the more I wanted to throw it across the room. I can’t begin to imagine how much pain, suffering, mental and emotional abuse the Jewish population was subjected to because of Hitler’s desire to “clean out the Jewish population.”
I am thankful that there were individual’s still interested in hunting down Nazi war criminals. I am thankful that they were able to follow up on tips that were provided and that they were able to find Adolf Eichmann. I however, cannot understand how he was able to stay under the radar for so long. It’s amazing that he wasn’t discovered sooner, however, in the end, Justice did prevail.
This book would make an excellent read for someone wanting to learn more about Adolf Eichmann and his part in the Holocaust. This book would make an excellent source with all it’s sources in the back of the book, to help further one’s research in this subject matter. This book will make an excellent book to read when covering the Holocaust in History class. I highly recommend it for these reasons and many many more.
