Find out in the sequel to Sins of the Fallen, where Karina Espinosa pulls readers back to the saga unfolding in the world of angels and demons—a world where everything falls part.

{my thoughts} – Max is lost. He doesn’t have any idea how to deal with all the things that are going on within his life at one time. Him and Jones have been on the run since the night his mom was killed by Angela’s father. Jpne’s has been having issues getting Max to talk to him and because of this Max isn’t telling him all the things that he needs to know about what is going on with him physically.

Max has been having many problems dealing with his abilities since the night his mother died. The night he allowed his fire to completely consume him. The night for him everything he loved and cared about was either dead or lost to him. His mother died at the hands of Angela’s father the Angel of Destruction. Max seems to think that Angela helped her father kill his mother so he has a target on Angela’s head. His father chose to console Angela over Max, making Max resent them both. And Max was forced to leave his girlfriend Melanie and forget that she ever existed.

Up until a few months ago Max’s only problems were keeping good grades and trying to graduate High School. Now he and Jones are on the run trying to survive battle after battle with Fallen Angels and Demons, hiding under the radar and seeking refuge in whatever quiet small town they come too.

Eventually Max and Jones run into some fallen Angels that guide them to a Nephilim. They end up getting wrapped up into some underground fight club stuff in Vegas where they meet a Seer named Georgie one of the seven Nephilim and then once they leave there since they had no luck finding the Nephilim of Greed they look at another casino and there he seeks them out.

Niko the Nephilim of Greed is a sarcastic, clever pain in the butt like Jones, the two clash something fierce. Greed ends up losing a lot of people close to him that night and then he decides it’s his job to start training and guiding young Max. This makes Jones angry but there isn’t much he can do about it because Niko is better equipped to teach him the methods of survival that he needs to learn.

Eventually Jones gets a call from Max’s dad saying that him and Jones need to be back for Max’s moms funeral. Max doesn’t care to go back but does have revenge on his mind. He decides he will go back and take the opportunity to kill Angela since she let her father kill his mother. Although that isn’t exactly what happened in both situations.

Niko and Max’s dad work out a truce and they all start working together to try and figure out who is after him and why. The book ends with Angela’s dad kidnapping Max’s dad and a not so new Nephilim introducing herself. Something tells me the next book is going to be named Lust! Just saying. I look forward to reading more in this series. It is action packed, it is entrancing, it is visually well written and it isn’t like most ya books that are filled with sappy romance. I think anyone into supernatural and paranormal books can enjoy reading this series!

{quotes i liked} –
01} I didn’t realize it until way after that night when I fought Abbadon, for the first time ever my fire actually hurt me. I was so angry and scared, that I felt the burn of my flames. After the initial feeling went away, everything around me became clear, it was like I finally accepted the fire as a part of me – and we became one. -Max

02} I get it, man. Trust me when I tell you I get it. I’m feeling it too, but you can’t become an island. You can’t freeze me out. It’s been a month and you need to face this head on. No more of this nonsense, I’m done accepting it! -Jones

03} You’re wrath. A myth that isn’t suppose to be real. After Noah’s Ark, we weren’t suppose to have Nephilims roaming the Earth – but we do. -Jones

04} Hope is a fickle thing. Sometimes I don’t even know why I still have any, it has never done me any good. -Max

05} There’s no better way to deal with the fact that you will die, then to pretend you don’t know. If I was still human, or at least thinking I was, it wouldn’t matter, death is inevitable. But when you learn of your immortality, you tend to fear death a lot more. -Max

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
