{New Moon: Stephanie Meyer}

{Synopsis} – For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is even more dangerous than Bella ever could have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of one evil vampire, but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realize their troubles may be just beginning….

Legions of readers entranced by New York Times bestseller Twilight are hungry for the continuing story of star-crossed lovers Bella and Edward. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural spin. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

{My thoughts} – This book was an alright read. It allowed me to learn more about Jacob and his family and to see another side of Bella when she wasn’t so dazed and caught up in her Edward fantasy. However, there are still many references of Edward and the fact that Bella thinks she has the ability to hear his voice in her mind when she is doing something that could possibly end her life. But still she continues down her own path of self destruction all because she does not think that life is worth living if she does not have Edward to live for. It appears that Edward is living under the same rule of thumb, that life isn’t worth living without Bella and all he wanted to do was protect her so he is going to make the ultimate sacrifice which will be his life. It’s sad to think but {lovevampires.com} got it right – this book is ultimately a more modern Romeo and Juliet – its a love that both want but is not obtainable through any justified means so in the end they both sacrifice their lives. The only difference is neither end up dead and the end up back together again. However up until Bella is able to stop Edward from sacrificing his life that would appear to be the end solution death in the name of love – paranormal style.

Final Conclusion: 3 Star Rating.
