{Devil’s Frost: Heidi R. Kling}

{Synopsis} –Every young witch looks forward to her first Solstice Stones. The pride of representing her coven against the warlocks. The rush from her first taste of dark magic.

But a few short minutes into the Stones, and Lily’s lifelong dream turns into a nightmare of pain and regret. Betrayed not once, but twice, her restraint snaps—with dire consequences.

Lily is wracked with guilt and on the run from the powerful Congression, when her broken confidence is further shattered by an ugly secret from the past. As her options dwindle, Lily is forced into a distasteful alliance.

Will she be able to find her way back to the light? Or will darkness consume her before dawn's new day?

{My Thoughts} – This book picked up where the first had left off. It shows the after effects of what had happened during the Gleaning. It is written in the perspective of both Lily and Logan and then has some bonus material written through Daisy’s perspective. It is a choose as you go type book like the previous two.

This book is well written and it helps to explain the role in which Iris and Jacob have both played in Lily and Logan’s lives. It helps to answer a lot of unanswered questions that had been previously brought to light.

I however didn’t enjoy this book as much as the previous two. I didn’t like reading Lily’s interpretation of events and then more or less re-reading the exact same thing but spun differently in Logan’s perspective. I feel that the story could have been continued through Logan and not retold just in a different way. I also wasn’t much for the bonus material as it was Daisy talking about events that happened before Lily and Logan ever went to the Gleaning. In my opinion that should have come first and not last. I only got part way through Daisy’s before I decided I wasn’t going to read anymore before I wrote my review. At this point I didn’t like this book as much as the rest but this book does help with the character development as well as the storyline.

I do however, look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Final Conclusion: 4 Star Rating.
