{my thoughts} –
Eve Collins is forced to visit her friend Aria’s grave. She blames herself for Aria’s death because she was distractedly watching Asher during the fight that had occurred. Eve asks a few of the Gargoyles about Aria’s unnatural speed but she is ignored and they change the subject on her. She still can’t figure out how Aria got past her so quickly and then how she died at the hands of the enemy.

Asher and Eve explore there romance more in this book. It gets to the point that most people would be like it’s obvious you two have a thing so admit it. When they finally do admit they have romantic intentions a bunch of other issues arise.

In this book Eve is tested, she gets kidnapped twice, she gets beat up and she questions which side of the war she is going to be loyal to. She has dreams that seem so real that they appear to be premonitions. She also questions her feelings on both Gage and Asher. If I were Eve I would choose Asher he seems so much more trusting the Gage the Gargoyle who chooses not to pick aside because he’d rather get revenge for the death of his first mate.

This book was wonderfully written and the ending made me sad. I am really hoping that in the next book Asher and Eve can work out their relationship issues. I know that a happy ever after would be so much better then the alternative.

{some quotes I liked} –
01} The biting, frigid wind whips around me in an angry whistle, a heartbreaking reminder that even in the tranquility of this moment, death is inevitable.

02} Arianna “Aria” Donovan
Beloved Daughter, Sister and Friend
July 20, 1996 – December 29, 2014

03} “What was it you always said, Fiaona? In life, sometimes the most courageous thing we do is the unthinkable to prevail in moments of other’s cowardliness.” Callan looks pointedly at me.

04} “What we want isn’t always what we need.” I force back my tears. I fear McKenna is wrong because my body is fighting against this. He snorts. “And sometimes what we need is something we didn’t even know we wanted.

05} “Rules are meant ta be broken, if luvs at stake,” Fiona says quietly, her eyes unwavering.
I hold her gaze for a brief moments before shifting my focus to the wall behind her. “Broken rules equate to nothing but pain and darkness,” I counter.
Her lips tighten in a straight line. “Stars don’t shine wit out da darkness,” she retorts.

06} I focus on the lake, shivering at the recollection of Saraphina. My mind wanders to Gage and I catch myself speculating on what he’s doing at the momemt, as my other hand reaches for the place on my wrist his lips burned. Focus Ever, no more Gage thoughts.

07} “I’m honored to share my stone state bed with you, forever,” he says in a soft firm tone, holding my face tightly.
“Forever is a long time,” I whisper, my throat tight.
He gives me his signature sexy smirk. “Yes, it Fucking is.”
I let out a strangled laugh as my knees go wobbly on me. “Asher St. Michael, I would be honored to share your stone state bed,” I say, looking him in the eyes.

08} Restlessness is crawling through my veins, making me irritated and on edge. I’m like a drug addict in need of a fix. I hate this sensation. I detest every second of this plan. Restraint sucks!

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
