{The Grimm Diaries Prequels 1-6: Cameron Jace}

{Synopsis} – What if all you knew about fairy tales was wrong?

Warning: these Grimm Prequels are like snap shots of a magical land you’re about to visit soon. I like to think of them as poisoned apples. Once you taste them, you will never see fairy tales in the same light again.

{My thoughts} – {date entire series completed} – {12.27.12}

– {Book 1: Snow White Blood Red} – {12.27.12} – This is an interesting short story. I have always been fascinated by the {brothers grimm} and always been curious about why they had written such dark fairy-tales that had been twisted into {happily ever afters}. This book shows a different’ take on {snow white} it shows what she could have been as opposed to what she was based on other renditions of the classic tale. I find it to be very engaging and interesting to say the least. This one is a letter written by the {evil queen} explaining what {snow white} is and has become over the years.

– {Book 2: Ashes to Ashes and Cinder to Cinder} – {12.27.12} – This book is about the back history and {cinderella}. It speaks about what happened and almost happened to her mother before she was due to enter the world. It also speaks of what her possible destiny is meant to be in regards to the person that she was suppose to be born to be verses the person she was born to be. It’s a really nice read and like the first it leaves me wanting more and more.

– {Book 3: Beauty Never Dies} – {12.27.12} – This is an interesting short story.

– {Book 4: Ladle Rotten Rat Hut} – {12.27.12} – Every page seems to bring to light some new detail. This book is centered around {little red riding hood} and he family’s legacy. It mentions a bit about {snow white} and also brings to light some information about {the seven dwarfs}. I can not believe how engaging these short stories are. They are truly worth the read and remarkable in their own ways.

– {Book 5: Mary Mary Quite Contrary} – {12.27.12} – This one is about the {Prince of Darkness}, {Peter Pan}, {Rumpelstiltskin} and a few other choice fairy-tale characters. I have come to realize that there are numerous references to {Harry Potter} within these books. It helps to add a little extra intrigue to the reading. It also mentions a princess named {Elizabeth} that gives birth to a child named {Mary}. It is rather amusing how all these characters are brought together within these diaries. I look forward to reading that last one here in a little while.

– {Book 6: Blood Apples} – {12.27.12} – This diary is written by {Prince Charming}. It is about his love for {Snow White} and his quest to save her from her imprisonment with {Rapunzel}. In his quest to rescue her he encounters a few other beloved characters from previous diaries. It ends with a twist I wasn’t quite expecting but find to be poetic all in the same. It was a very enjoyable read.

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
