This series is part of Scholastic’s early reader line, Acorn, aimed at children who are learning to read. With easy-to-read text, a short-story format, plenty of humor, and full-color artwork on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and fluency. Acorn books plant a love of reading and help readers grow!

Unicorn has a horn and can do magic.
Yeti is big and furry and cannot do magic.

Yeti likes snowball fights.
Unicorn does not like snowball fights.

But Unicorn and Yeti both love sparkly things, magic rainbows, and — most of all — being best friends! These laugh-out-loud stories with full-color artwork and easy-to-read text throughout are perfect for new readers!

{My thoughts} – A fun new beginner reader series. Unicorn and Yeti are two unlikely friends. Unicorn has magic and Yetti doesn’t. However, the two of them find things to do together they they both enjoy. One of those things is a fun snowball fight. It does take Unicorn a bit to figure out how to participate with hooves, but once she does they have a lot of fun.

I really enjoy how the text and the images blend together flawlessly. I also like how it is written in a beginner graphic novel like way. I enjoy books like this because to me they help to keep young children interested in reading. They don’t use a whole lot of text, but mostly the illustrations tell the story. Books like this are perfect for young readers and have a lot of potential. I look forward to reading more books in this series in the future.

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
