{Synopsis} – Pick a book. Grow a Reader!

This series is part of Scholastic’s early chapter book line, Branches, aimed at newly independent readers. With easy-to-read text, high-interest content, fast-paced plots, and illustrations on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and stamina. Branches books help readers grow!

Dark wizard Maldred has stolen the Gold and Silver Keys! With these keys, he can now control the Naga: a powerful dragon who can cause terrible earthquakes. The Naga lives in a secret temple in the center of the earth… and Maldred is on his way there! Drake and his friends Jean and Darma travel to the temple to try to stop him. What will they find there? Will the Dragon Masters defeat Maldred once and for all

{My thoughts} – There is so much that has happened in this series from the beginning. There are so many new Dragon Masters and Dragons that have been introduced. In this book we get the meet an Earthquake Dragon named Naga. He is a really strong dragon that is hidden away and has two Dragon Masters. Not one but two!

Maldred got away with both the Silver Key and the Gold Key in the last book. His goal was to get to the Earthquake Dragon and use it’s power to control the world. Drake and the Silver and Gold Dragon Masters head out to help him in trying to stop Maldred from getting his hands on the Earthquake Dragon. What will come of the world with Maldred in control?

The hope is that the combined five Dragon Masters will be able to put a stop to Malred. The added dragons and then the help of knowledge is meant to save the day. I am not sure if that is what really happened, well I know what happened, but I don’t want to say.

I think this is an incredibly well written and illustrated book set for young readers. I cannot wait to share this series with my girls when they get a little older. My only question at this point in the series is what happened to Eko and her dragon? Hopefully that will be answered eventually in upcoming books? I look forward to hopefully reading the next book in the series very soon!

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
